This Autumn me and Lorenzo spent two weeks volunteering for the Blue Paw Trust in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
This charity is a non-profit organisation that looks after the street dog and cat populations in the city and in rural areas. They have sterilised thousands of street animals, keeping the population under control and healthy.
They also provide rabies vaccinations and education, and since the project started the number of rabies cases in Colombo has massively reduced.
As Sri Lanka is an island, there is potential to eradicate this disease and save animals and human lives.
I feel passionate about this project and I feel we all in the Western world have so much, It is important to distribute wealth to those who need it most.
The project do great work and I would like to buy the team some more surgical equipment which they are in need of to continue the surgeries.
