Assalamu-alaykum everyone and Eid Mubarak , May Allah accept it from all of us. Ameen. My mother and I are currently trying to raise £1500 on behalf of a very dear aunt of mine in Mauritius. Her cousin has been diagnosed with breast cancer and subhanAllah this has spread very aggressively to other areas in her body such as her neck with a high chance of reduced survival rate if not treated asap. The saddest part is while we are blessed with free healthcare at our disposal in the UK others around the world aren’t as fortunate and without choice have to pay privately. The sister has a 10 year old son and is ready to fight this illness in order to live for him and her husband who has given up his job to care for her. The sister is ready to start chemotherapy but due to a lack of resources and funds she is unable to start the treatment. She was sent to India instead to start chemotherapy but has made little progress as the Mauritian government are unable to finance her treatment. The cost of one injection is about £123.00 weekly which is very expensive in Mauritian Rupees. We are therefore requesting some urgent help on behalf of the family. If there is anyone who has yet to pay their zakat or would like to make a contribution towards this lady’s chemotherapy then please donate! There is no obligation upon anyone rather this is a request for people who are looking to still donate to a noble cause. In our lives we may have seen someone suffer or lost someone due to cancer and that’s because they didn’t have enough time, something which Allah has blessed us with, be it a few minutes, hours or another day to live. Whatever has been written is written but we can always make a little difference no? Remember to love for your brother and sister what you would love for yourself. A message to myself first.
