Schools and education

Story

Hello!

In Nepal government schools offer little in the way of educational opportunity, and suffer acutely from the political struggles and Maoist strikes which plague Nepal.

HVP-Nepal is a UK based charity that runs three schools providing free education, and accomodation/food when necessary for disadvantaged children.

We are two students from Oxbridge going to Dang, a town in western Nepal, as teachers, continuing a decade-long partnership between Oxbridge and HVP UK. We will be teaching there for six weeks throughout the summer.

We are raising money to help HVP fund volunteers like ourselves and to support their other activities: the Children's Peace Home, the Women's Education Programme and the rebuilding of the main block of the school in Kathmandu.
