I've raised £20000 to help Sophina Dobrocsi with complementary health care and financial support while she undergoes treatment for Breast Cancer

Sophina is a delightful energetic woman who has a passion for running, art and being a mother to her 7 year old daughter Elfini. She is known locally as the “Gazelle” as she can often be spotted out running light-footedly on the roads, fields and beaches of North Devon. She has run several marathons and half marathons both here and in South Africa. Sophina is a very fit healthy living lady and so it came as a huge shock when she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
Sophina was diagnosed with a grade 3 (aggressive), HER 2+ tumor in her breast in August 2016 and had a mastectomy in September. Having decided against chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone blockers as follow up treatment she was in consultation with Patricia Pete, author of ‘ The Cancer Revolution’ and founder of Cancer Options which is a renowned service at the forefront of cancer treatment developments. Through this process Sophina began researching what is available at the cutting edge of both conventional medicine and alternative treatments. She feels very strongly about taking responsibility for her own recovery and wanted to know as much as possible before making decisions about treatments.
Sophina discovered a new lump on the scar site and has had more surgery recently after she had the results back from a core biopsy performed in October and found that it was the same invasive estrogen positive HER2+ tumor she had before, last year, when she was first diagnosed in August 2016.
Having already been following a strict nutritional programme including many supplements for the previous 12 months, Sophina knew that it was time to find a way to access more of the tests and treatments she has discovered, alongside conventional cancer medicine so that she could have the best chance of beating the disease and maintaining her vibrant health long term.
Sophina has decided, after looking into all of her options to manage this kind of aggressive cancer, that she will follow the protocol offered her by her Oncologist which includes chemotherapy and Herceptin, a targeted drug which has changed the prognosis for women with HER+ breast cancers. We are raising money to fund her complementary treatment and health care which will include tests through specialist clinics and treatments through laboratories in London and Europe, nutritional supplementation and guidance from a Naturopath and to support her while she undergoes the course of chemo over the next year.

TREATMENT CENTRE ABROAD:
This is something Sophina wishes to be prepared for, she doesn't know how intense this journey is going to become, so needs to have a back-up plan in place that she could take Elfini to South Africa where the treatments she requires are a lot cheaper and her daughter could be looked after by her father (who lives in Cape Town) while she immerses 100% in Healing.
£2,000 - £5,000… depending on treatments required
Thanks for your time and attention and with gratitude for your support.
