Who are we?

Sing out Strong is a SINGCREDIBLE family of choirs and social-singing groups for mental health and wellbeing. The organisation was set up by Emma Rowland, a professional conductor who suffers with depression and anxiety.

Singing is so good for your mental (and physical) wellbeing. It combats anxiety, producing endorphins that make you feel energised and positive; it reduces stress and helps you sleep better; it fosters a sense of achievement and community - and can even cut down on illness by boosting your immunity!

Sing out Strong is totally SINGCLUSIVE! We are open to anyone, whatever their experience or background, and want to make singing available and accessible in as many different ways as possible so that everyone can benefit from it.

A safe, supportive and inspirational choir, standing together for positive mental well-being. I love it." - Hereford choir member

Why are we raising money?

With the Sing out Strong (SOS) Fund, we want to support people who perhaps cannot access our regular projects and activities due to financial constraints. If you make a donation to the SOS Fund, then that money will be used to provide free places in our choirs and social-singing groups.

Your donation can make a valuable difference to a singer. For example:

£6.50 would pay for one session in one of our choirs, for one singer.

£10.00 would buy the sheet music for five new songs, for one singer.

£39.00 would pay for a full quarter's membership in one of our choirs, for one singer.

£156 would sponsor a singer for an entire year.

Sing out Strong Global

When COVID-19 hit, Sing out Strong began offering virtual choir projects for the whole world, to keep people singing - and happy - in lockdown. These projects are provided totally free of charge to anyone and everyone, and organised by an inspirational team of creative volunteers.

At the time of writing (June 2020), we are about to launch our fourth virtual choir project "I've been Waiting..." and are working with thousands of singers from almost 80 countries.

Sing out strong virtual the next best thing to a real time choir session". - Virtual singer

(Our first virtual choir project in April 2020, "Song for the People")

We intend to continue to provide virtual choir projects for free, as long as the COVID-19 lockdown continues.

Thank you

Any donation you can give will directly contribute to helping people improve their mental health through singing.
