Story
South View's School Council have decided that they would like to raise money on behalf of our local community. During our meeting held this month, they decided that it would be good to raise money for Crowland Abbey. As you may be aware, the Abbey has been subjected to several acts of vandalism over recent years, leaving repairs that have run into thousands of pounds. The School Council suggested that if the children adopt a sense of pride in their community they will appreciate and respect it more as they grow older.
With this in mind, they discussed several fund-raising ideas and came to the agreement that they wanted to do a sponsored walk. The idea then developed into walking 10 miles over 10 consecutive school days, with the idea that, the more effort the children put in the greater their appreciation they will have for the funds raised.
