Story
We would like to introduce ourselves as The Committee of South Milford Football Club. Anthony Eckford and Adam Fossett are also members of the Swan Croft Committee, (Swan Croft being the land the cricket and football pitches are situated on).
We have made some major changes to the Swan Croft land, we are nearly ready to plant the seeds for our new under 8s and walking football pitches to progress our aim to engage more with our local community.
The development of a new training facility for our teams is well under way with the reclamation of land opposite the playing pitches, we have erected most of our floodlighting and the work is coming to a close. This will mean that more funds can stay within the club and we can develop South Milford FC further. The floodlights will be powered by a generator, local business Van Os Medical based in Sherburn In Elmet and Selby have provided funds for the generator to enable this purchase to be completed.
With the agreement of South Milford Parish Council to erect a shelter, planning is with Selby Council as we speak. The current money raised will go towards materials for the shelter which is approximated at £2,000.00. Garry Lee of Care Craft Building Services has agreed to support our venture ensuring the project is built to building regulations. We currently do not have matchday facilities for spectators, this shelter will be a great addition to have as a base, and for spectators to shelter on cold rainy match days. It would also provide shelter for our volunteers who help out on match days.
Our original total was £3,500.00, £2,000.00 for the shelter and £1,500.00 for the generator. Thanks to the assistance with the generator we have adjusted our JustGiving page target to £2,000.00 to provide for our shelter. With your generous donations to date we are already half way towards our total.
Thank you to those who have given so far and for the support of everyone within the community. A big thank you to the South Milford Parish Council for supporting our vision . #ASMAW
