We urgently need your help!
We started this page last year to raise £12,944 to fund the next stage in the development of our football club.
Since then, we have spent £11,911 on planning applications, fees, and professional reports, and expect to incur further expenses soon. We do not hold reserves of cash. We keep the fees we charge to our players as low as possible, to ensure that football is affordable for all, and simply attempt to cover our running costs each year.
Our juniors have played their football in the village at Southwater Playing Fields (also known as Phillips Field) for forty years. However, the landowner decided not to renew our licence, and we have been left without a place for our children to play.
We have located land south of Two Mile Ash Road, close to the Bax Castle Pub, and have applied for planning permission for change of use, a small card park, and some other ancillary items. This is where we have incurred most of the £11,911 costs.
We have had to pause progress on a separate project to upgrade the facilities at our senior pitches at Southwater Sports Club due to lack of funds, since the priority is to secure new football pitches for our juniors. We simply must replace those we have lost to allow our children to continue to play football in the village.
Your help would be greatly appreciated. Without this, we are facing the need to cut spending on our running costs, which means less footballs, less cones, less bibs, and more teams sharing the same training space giving them less room to play and learn.
