Weʼve raised £60 to repair Sparkbrook's only public clock

Funded on Thursday, 27th July 2017

    Story

The people of Sparkbrook, Birmingham have been relying on this clock since 1901. After 115 years of unbroken service it has developed a serious fault and the original makers - Gillett and Johnston - will charge £1200 for a lasting repair.

The clock is on the Stratford Road in the heart of Sparkbrook, on the tower of St Agatha's church. The congregation there are unable to afford this amount so are looking to the community for whom the clock is such a useful landmark and timepiece.

All money raised will go to the repair of the clock and not the church.

Please donate if you want this great asset of Sparkbrook to tell the right time.

Offline local people have donated at least £178.07 - gratefully received
