Story
The Shar Pei Club of Great Britain has asked the Animal Health Trust (AHT), as part of our funding of the ‘Give a dog a genome’ project to look specifically at Amyloidosis - the silent killer in our breed. The AHT has accepted the challenge and work has begun to sequence a dog with Amyloidosis. The club has donated £1000 (matched by the Kennel Club) to start this work but now we need your help. To speed the project up, the researchers would like to sequence two dogs. We need to raise a further £2000 for this vital work to go ahead. We are asking for your help to kick start what is probably the most important research in our breed’s history. Any amount, no matter how small, can make a huge difference to the future of our breed. Please donate via our Just Giving page and help us to find and eliminate this heartbreaking disease.
