Hello everyone, I have been blessed to come across the work of Special Yoga and to get on board with them this year and join the team of practitioners. They are an incredible Not for profit organisation which offers yoga as an therapeutic intervention for children and young people with special needs. This therapy offers the children a way to embody themselves and to feel more comfortable and at peace with the body they were given, as well as help them to regulate the body's natural systems. The practice of yoga helps us to know and unite with our True Self, our inherent nature and it is the same for the children when offered to them as a therapy. By knowing and connecting with our Self we can gain a huge sense of peace and wellbeing and importance which can have incredible healing effect on any individual. the children we work with at Special Yoga and their families have immense challenges daily and yoga can help then to get a glimpse of what they are beyond these challenges. Special yoga offers training programs to parents and practitioners working with children and our founder Jyoti travels around sharing her knowledge and skills with people in very deprived communities. All money raised from this bike ride will go to support Jyoti and the team to reach more children, some who are living in deprived communities with no support and knowledge about how to help their children.
