I've raised £1000 to help fund 'Spectacular' for Online and Live Performances in 2021

Tiny T's Storytelling & Theatre was created purely to bring joy and magic to families all over the world.
Spectacular - What every Children's Show should be...
In 2018-2019, I wrote a story about a single parent family that needed a boost. It was a story that truly came from the heart and once we performed it in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and then at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2019 that was our main feedback - how heart warming and moving the story was on so many levels, for adults as much as it is for children, how fun and warming the characters were and most of all, the feeling it left our audiences with.
Through the power of some magical specs, will Starla and her new friends be able to grant her family's wish at last? First performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019 and brought to life through a magical and heartwarming rhyming story. Reminding us to dream big, Spectacular will leave every reader with a Twinkle in their eye!
The story itself is ultimately about mental health and how one opportunity can change your life. It's about family, connection and friendship. It's about imagination, creativity and magic. It's about not taking life too seriously. All messages we need right now and this is why I feel so strongly to showcase this wonderful story that has come together with so many creatives who need a break right now.
They should turn it into a book!
-Edinburgh Festival Audience Statement
So, from 2019 to 2021 I have now adapted it into a Children's Rhyming Picture Book. The illustrations are captured beautifully by Jay Stelling and bring the story and the characters to life even further. The rhyming flow of the book makes it easy to read and understand, whilst taking you on a whirl-wind of imagination and joy.
"Imagine the things that you can do when you see the world from a different point of view..."
This year, in 2021, I want nothing more than to perform the show live, for outdoor performances, and to bring the show online so anyone and everyone can watch in the comfort and safety of their home. But, with out the right funds, it is nearly impossible for a single founder to be able to take that next step and perform it with the correct equipment. I need money to pay my actors, musicians, studio space, new set, props and puppets, lighting and sound equipment.
We are asking to raise £1,000. It will not cover everything but any small donation will help at the moment. To be able to perform this show would mean the absolute world to me so that I can bring our wonderful story to life and perform it to families all over the world. Ticket prices online will be low so therefore it will be accessible to many families, and there will also be many families I will be inviting for face-to-face performances that may not have access to theatre for whatever reason. It is so important now more than ever to keep the Arts alive and show children that anything is possible, in a world filled with chaos.
Throughout 2020, going into lockdown, I performed free stories for children every day of the week for about 3 months. The online following grew hugely, but sadly it's easy to be forgotten about when you then need paying audiences. The regular families are so loyal and so incredible and are helping keep Tiny T's going, but we just need to reach a 'next level' feeling, where I can move things forward even further...
To perform this show this year will allow Tiny T's Storytelling & Theatre to grow, evolve and reach new audiences, so that we can spread more joy and magic going forward and spread more awareness about how important The Arts is for young people and their families.
Oh it's amazing and such a beautiful sentiment. Such a beautiful narrative. You should be so proud.
Our feedback and reviews of the book have been nothing but how special the book is, how wonderful and beautiful it is. How much it has inspired parents and their children. How it has become a regular bed time story, so now I feel compelled with all of my heart and soul to be able to perform this to our audiences, live streaming all across the world, and to bring the show back on it's feet in 'real-life' too.
Going to train professionally as a performer is so much hard work and determination and to leave 4 years later not knowing at all what it is you want to do is even harder. Then, I discover the love for Children's Theatre and working with families and young people. The magic of it is addictive; seeing the young audience's faces light up with imagination and inspiration.
You're unstoppable. You're invincible...
