Story

Spectropolis - Pay it Forward was set up to provide autism-related, health and well-being books to people on the autism spectrum, their family members and for those who support them. Knowledge is power and ensure that the needs of autists are identified and met appropriately.

Book donations aim to provide information and empower people to make informed and robust decisions about their own care or the care of someone else.

With dissatisfaction with post autism diagnosis support being at an all-time high (Crane, et al. 2016), autists and their family members are opting to seek information from alternative sources, including books, use of the internet and from parent support groups.

One of our goals is to ensure that information continues to be shared with others. Knowledge can be paid forward in one of the following ways: by sharing the knowledge gained from reading the book with others; through passing the book onto someone else; by returning the book to Spectropolis to be passed onto someone else; or by sharing a post on social media.

Since 2018, Spectropolis - Pay it Forward has donated books to almost 500 people. We would like to continue these efforts, reaching as many individuals, families and professionals as possible.
