Story
As you know, my dad, Spencer, was attacked by a stranger in Surbiton last week. He was sprayed in the face with ammonia and is not only fighting the physical affects of this but also the mental trauma of such a scary incident. He has had his eyes hosed out for hours and gotten surgery too. He currently has one eye stitched shut which will last a few weeks!
A lot of you asked for a donation page to be set up. Thankfully for our wonderful NHS, the medical side is covered. The money donated will be used to make Dad’s 50th birthday one to remember this year! (Don’t tell him I told you his age! ;))
Thank you for all your wonderful message and continued support.
Information:
Spencer was driving through Surbiton when he was approached by a motorcyclist who screamed at him at some traffic lights on January 19 at around 4.05pm. Spencer said the man was coaxing him to open the window. Spencer explained he was on the phone hands-free. He opened my window by about an inch to ask what the problem was. The man said 'I can't hear you. I've got earphones in. Open your window' and when Spencer opened the window the man produced a water bottle and squeezed the bottle into Spencer’s face. “I was instantly paralyzed and blinded. I inhaled and ingested the solution. All the insides of my mouth blistered.“I honestly thought I was going to die.” Spencer urged people not to open their car windows under any circumstances. After being treated at Kingston Hospital he had surgery at St George's Eye Trauma Unit where his eyelid had to be stitched up following the treatment.
“There has been no arrest at this stage. “Any witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call 101, ref CAD 4727/20jan, or to remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers.”
