I've raised £200 to help fundraise cancer treatment for Samantha Coley through a sponsored head shave.

Back in August 2016 Samantha was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic bowel cancer ), in March this year she got the news that it had spread to both her lungs. Following a colonoscopy this month it turns out that it's spread to another lymph node as well.
The story behind it is as follows;
Samantha admitted herself into hospital last May 2016 following severe right sided pain. She was admitted into hospital for a week and treated for a suspected ovarian absess, however 6 weeks later the pain resurfaced so in July 2016 she found herself going back to hospital.
The following day Samantha underwent emergency surgery whereby they removed what was described as a 'mass' incorporating her rupturing appendix. During this operation a stent was also put in place as her right kidney was found to be blocked & her spleen enlarged.
4 days latter Samantha became increasingly unwell and was taken back down to theatre for another emergency operation, this is when they found a tennis ball sized tumour in the area of her bowel/ovary.
Samantha spent a long time in Intensive Care & High Dependency wards recovering and had to effectively learn to walk & talk again as she lost so much weight, along with her muscle mass. It was challenging, but she made it home but 2 weeks later was called in to be told she had an aggressive and advance localised cancer which was effectively deemed incurable/terminal. Sam refused to take this diagnosis and has been seeking other opinions/treatment plans from clinics here in London and in Germany.
She is being advised towards a treatment called 'immunotherapy', which effectively strengthens her own immune system cells to seek out the cancer cells to kill them.
This is why the fundraising comes into its own as Sam requires a minimum of £80,000 to start the treatment and we all intend to help her along the way.
