Story
Spring of Hope school is in rural Uganda where there is no piped water supply.
The nearest water source is from the borehole which is down the road from the school.
Water is brought to the school site in jerry cans - carried by hand or on the back of a bicycle. This is time consuming and the school has to pay for water delivery.
Uganda has 2 rainy seasons when it rains a lot! Right now, the school has no way of collecting or storing any of this water.
We want to provide guttering, drain pipes and water storage tanks so that the school can 'harvest' the rain water and store it for use as and when required by the school

6 years agoIt's all about the kids. The kids in Spring of Hope School will be the main ones to benefit from having water on the school site. Spring of Hope school has day attenders and boarders living on site. These kids need water for drinking, washing, food preparation, clothes washing, cleaning and everything else. Having water tanks on site will make everything so much easier.

6 years agoThe water supply for Spring of Hope School is brought in these containers. The school pays for each can and the water is used for everything from cooking to washing clothes. Supply is limited due to the cost. Installation of a water tank will mean that the school will have free water on site.
