Story
We are a group of fashion industry professionals raising money to make custom scrubs orders for front line NHS workers.
A good friend is a critical care nurse at Guy and St Thomas hospital. She is running the SPRINT (SPecialist Retrieval & INtensive Care Transfer Service) Taskforce which has been put into place for the recent outbreak. This team is made up of volunteer doctors and specialist nurses giving up their time alongside their gruelling day to day. Help us to make specialist medical grade scrubs!
Their job is to move critical care patients around London to access the correct medical supplies when hospitals are overrun and can no longer cope. The sad truth is they are having to provide their own PPE equipment at this time and have even resorted to raiding the schools for goggles and other bits.
We have been working in collaboration with the team to design the bespoke scrubs for them to suit their very a-typical needs. They have requested 100 sets of scrubs. We are going into manufacture with the help of furloughed seamstresses from the fashion industry. Our team of machinist has been coordinated by the lovely Sorcha and Millie from Create recruitment.
We have kindly been donated bespoke care labels and size tabs from Care label ltd.
The cost donations will cover the following for each set of scrubs:
3m of medical grade polycotton= £7.65
0.9m of elastic= £1.05
embroidery= £2.16
total= £10.86 per set of scrubs
