I've raised £5000 to Provide Defibrillators and the Necessary Training Partnering with https://thedanielwilkinsonfoundation.org/

On Sunday 25th November during an U15's Junior League match, Daniel Lowe who plays for Stocksbridge Park Steels had a Cardiac Arrest on the pitch. Although there were 3 professionally trained hero's who acted quickly to administer CPR, and they worked really hard to bring him back numerous times, on it's own it wasn't enough! Fortunately 1 year ago the club engaged with The Daniel Wilkinson Foundation who donated a defibrillator. It was the presence and the use of this device 3 times on Daniel that ultimately saved his life! He was stabalised further by the paramedics who attended and was transferred to Sheffield Children's Hospital. The paramedics and Doctors who have since treated Daniel have been very clear that without the availability and use of the defibrillator Daniel would not have survived.
Daniels Dad and I would like to thank everyone who was at Daniels match on Sunday 25/11/2018. Everyone contributed to saving our sons life. The referee who knew the defibrillator existed, the parents who ran to get it, the parents who lined the route to guide the ambulance so they knew where to go; and of course, the two nurses who were, on the day, just parents watching their sons play football, and our coach Nik who together performed CPR and brought Daniel back to us. Their quick thinking and actions not only saved his life, but brought him back to us without any mental deficits. He has recovered amazingly having spent time in the Specialist Cardiac Unit at Leeds General Hospital to investigate what caused his cardiac arrest and to have an ICD implant. The presence of the defibrillator saved our sons life. This amazing life saving piece of equipment is priceless. If we learn anything from this traumatic event, please let it be that these defibrillators need to be in every sports ground, school and all our communities.
Each week in the UK healthy young people die from sudden cardiac arrest! There is free screening available from Cardiac Risk in the Young . Screening in Italy has reduced the occurrence of sudden cardiac death by 89%. Please help us raise awareness of screening and the importance of having these devices available and support us in achieving our goal.
