‘Feeding the Future’

As a response to the 2022 political and economic crisis in Sri Lanka, we launched the "Feeding The Future" program in collaboration with the Hemas Outreach Foundation, with a view to address the nutritional needs of vulnerable children on the brink of malnutrition in preschools across Sri Lanka.

*Future In Progress*

We started by supporting 367 children and their families across 15 preschools with essential dry rations including Red Rice, Dhal, Sprats, Milk Powder. Today the program supports 1,160 families across 11 of the poorest districts by providing them vital nutritional packs.

*School Of Life*

In November 2023 we finished construting and opened our first preschool in the remote village of Poojapitiya in Kandy. Enrolling 55 children from neighbouring villages, this marks a significant landmark in providing not just nutritional support but quality education where it is needed most.

*Fundraising*

In the past 20 months we've raised over £180,000 for FTF through initiatives such as a discretionary £1 on every bill, donations via our JustGiving page, proceeds from cookbook and retail sales, monthly specials, and collaborations.

*Accountability and Efficiency*

To ensure full transparency and maximum impact, we keep administrative costs close to zero, make purchases at wholesale rates, undergo audits by Ernst & Young Sri Lanka and work with local nutritionists to identify the children’s needs.
