I graduated in 2013 and post my graduation I joined Teach for India, an organization who gives an opportunity for India’s brightest and most promising youth, from the nation’s best universities and workplaces, to serve as full-time teachers to children from low-income communities in some of the nation’s most under-resourced schools. Through this experience of teaching in classrooms and working with key education stakeholders like students, principals, and parents, our Fellows get exposed to the grassroot realities of India’s education system and begin to cultivate the knowledge, skills, and mindsets necessary to attain positions of leadership in education and identify their role in building a wider movement for educational equity in the country. I taught in a low income school in India for two years as a part of my fellowship. Like any other high income school we also have a small Annual Day celebration where students show their talents. Every year we used to make it very short, simple because of lack of funds. This year the teachers have decided to make it grand and now that I have taken a break and came to UK for studies I am not being physically able to help them raise the money they need. Hence I am reaching out to you to help me in raising funds. The money will be used for Annual Day prize ceremony, props and costumes for kids and food for them. A small donation wont just help them to have a better Annual Day for once but bring a smile on the faces of those kids who suffer pain and humiliation every single day.
