29 of the team from Fundamental Media’s London office will be putting on our walking boots and packing our rucksacks to undertake the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on September 2nd 2023. We are going to be walking a total of 24 miles in 12 hours which will be no mean feat. We will be crossing 3 of the highest peaks in Yorkshire with a total ascent of 1381 metres – that is higher than Ben Nevis the tallest mountain in the UK! We are looking to raise money for two good causes supporting community projects close to the team; Saving Souls and Power Gym (please see more details below). Power Mobile Gym:
is a registered community interest organisation that takes pride in bringing communities together through the use of tailored boxing programmes. We conduct classes and sessions for people of all ages and abilities at the PMG Centre, which is located within the Woolwich Common Community Centre. Our highly qualified coaches would be honoured to help you on your journey to becoming the best version of yourself possible.
Saving Souls Hub:
Established 2021, Saving Souls is an all-inclusive sporting hub which focuses on the improvement of well-being and the prevention of mental health issues within the community.
Our mission is to improve the well-being and mental health of our community through the use of sports and physical activity. We strive to provide accessible and inclusive opportunities for individuals to engage in physical activity, promoting positive mental health and overall well-being.
Our vision is to create a society where mental health and well-being are prioritised and supported through the use of sports and physical activity. We aim to reduce the prevalence of mental health issues by providing opportunities for individuals to engage in physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle. We believe that through sports and physical activity, we can create a more resilient, positive and healthy community.
Using sports and physical activity to improve well-being and prevent mental health is important because it can help to reduce stress, improve mood, and increase self-esteem. Regular physical activity can also improve sleep, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and improve overall physical health. Additionally, sports and physical activity can provide a sense of community and social support, which can be beneficial for mental health. Furthermore, it can be a fun and enjoyable way to stay active, which can make it more sustainable in the long-term
We have the support and backing from different organisations, such being affiliated by London FA and being voted as grassroots project of the year 2022, we are a Snickers just play recreational centre, have an accreditation from the England national team and have been awarded funding from organisations like TNL (Awards for All), Barclays, Adidas, Fare network and we are a member of the Barclays sported programme.
We have recently just launched our self defence class programme for women which will give women the opportunity to learn self defence for free as well as the understanding of situational awareness, accessing your surrounding, dealing with past trauma all mixed in with a fun, supportive team culture and providing the participants with the tools and guidance they need to succeed.
