Sutton St James Playgroup was established in 1970 and is a registered charity (1076912), managed by a small voluntary committee.

We now open 5 days a week catering for 2 years to school age children providing a rich and varied curriculum, extending and developing their learning and preparing them for school. The staff work tirelessly to provide a stimulating and safe environment within which the children can flourish and develop to the best of their ability.

Unfortunately, we recently had a survey carried out on our mobile unit and it indicated extensive repairs needed to be carried out on the roof, the floor is beginning to give way and the electrics and insulation need to be updated. It would be devastating to the children, parents and staff if we were forced to close and the village itself would lose a vital part of its community.

We have taken the decision to now long term fundraise for a new building at a cost of approximately £350,000. We have set ourselves a target of a year to raise this sizeable amount of money but as a small committee you will appreciate the task we face.

We would therefore be extremely grateful for any support you could give us to enable this valuable village amenity for the young children of the locality to continue.
