We are a small performing arts school trying to raise money to help fund the cost of some portable ballet barres for our fast approaching ballet exams. Our girls are extremely hard working and dedicated and are currently performing their exercises whilst holding on to radiators. We currently run our classes from a Sea cadets hall and the dynamics of the room unfortunately mean that there is no place to fix a ballet barre to the wall, so we really need some portable barres. Holding on to the radiators can pose many difficulties as they are not the correct height for all the students and they do not allow the girls enough space to perform their exercises correctly. Winter is coming and we will soon have to turn the heating on, making it even more challenging as the radiators will be too hot to hold, deeming them unusable. In November the girls will be taking their grade 1 ballet exam. A ballet barre is a crucial element for some of the exercises in that syllabus and I would love for them to have this essential equipment and have one less thing to worry about on the day. We are still quite a small school and unfortunately are unable to fund the full cost ourselves, so have decided to use crowdfunding. We appreciate any help you can give us. Any money leftover will be put towards a new floor.
