I've raised £3000 to St Andrew's Church Biggleswade Pipe Organ restoration Appeal

This is an appeal to raise funds to restore our pipe organ at St Andrew’s church in Biggleswade. We are a busy parish church in a rapidly expanding market town, and regularly have a congregation of 100 plus each Sunday morning. Music is an important part of our tradition with a robed choir leading the singing at our Parish Communion and Evensong. The organ is an integral part of the worship. In addition to supporting regular worship, the organ is also used at many other large events. These include civic and deanery services, recitals, concerts, school services and many weddings and funerals. On average 35 such events take place per year, so the organ is familiar to the wider community of the town.
Our organ has served us well for 60 years, but is now in need of a full refurbishment. Whilst refurbishing, we also intend to ‘future-proof’ the organ by making changes to the console. This will better serve our style and arrangement of worship, and provide the opportunity for it to be used as a teaching organ; whilst also facilitating performance as a solo instrument. The Church is committed to undertaking the project and raising the funds to do so. Quotations from several companies have indicated that we require at least £60,000. Subject to funding being secured we would like to undertake the works during Summer 2018.
I hope that you will be able to support this important project.
