Story
St Martins church in Castleton, Rochdale has been at the heart of the community for decades and they have worked tirelessly to bring the church into the 20th century boasting beautiful surroundings, 2 community rooms and of course the church where many parishiners enjoy weekly prayers, they hold many community gatherings which include afternoon teas, fashion shows, book and tea mornings, they also hire out the community rooms to childrens clubs.
Unfortunatley many months ago the lift to access upstairs broke down and they were told, as it was very old, it couldnt be fixed and since then many people who rely on the lift have been unable to access upstairs
They have recieved quotations to replace the lift but astonishingly they are looking at £70000 plus to replace, this is an important part of the church so fundraising has begun, Church of England have agreed to pay part of the cost but their is such a huge amount and way to go to raise the rest
If we can raise as much as we can through here and within the community hopefully it can be replaced sooner rather than later, so my plea is too please make this happen and continue to allow everyone to access all areas within the church
Thankyou
