I've raised £5000 to repair St Swithin's Church, Old Weston

St Swithin's, Old Weston is a beautiful medieval church with a fascinating history. The earliest parts of the church date from c.1200 - it was built at the same time as Notre Dame. Over the centuries it has been repeatedly extended and refurbished - but in recent years a lack of funding has left it in dire need of repair. If we do not act quickly, there is a real risk that we will lose this historic landmark for ever. The photos on this page show how serious the problems are.
At least £50,000 is needed in order to carry out essential repair work. We are applying for numerous grants and hope that they will contribute substantially to the funding required, but we also need your help. If you could spare any amount, however small, to help save the beautiful church that is part of our shared heritage, we would be so grateful.
Whether you are part of our local community of one of our many visitors from around the world, we know that you have a personal connection with our lovely church and do not want to see it close. Please help us to stop this from happening.
With many thanks from the St Swithin's Restoration Group.
