Stacey’s Skydive

First I just want to start by thanking you all for taking the time to read my story and the reasons why I will be doing the skydive.

It all started in 2014 when myself and my husband found out we was having a baby girl, the thing we didn’t expect to find out was that she was also really ill with multiple medical conditions one being series heart problems. Our baby girl is called sienna, and she was born 10th august 2014 at 32+3 weeks gestation weighing 2lb 5oz. Sienna spent many months in Leeds general infirmary and battled threw 20 months of life in and out of hospital and having a total of a massive 24 operations. Her last operation in June 2015 was major open heart surgery where I, my husband and all the amazing Drs thought everything was going to be perfect. All that came crashing down when 4 months later sienna started to become unwell and had a low temperature, we took sienna to dri where they noticed that her saturations were low and she required oxygen. They couldn’t find any reason for the oxygen requirement so they sent her to Leeds general where multiple tests were done. That is when we found out that sienna had pulmonary hypertension and disconnection of the left lung and there was no cure…. Sienna was terminal.

After around another 8 weeks in hospital she was aloud home on oxygen and lots of different medications. We as a family got referred to bluebell woods children’s hospice where when sienna started to deteriate we would go as a family to make sienna comfortable and have the support of the amazing Drs and nurses and other staff. THE TIME HAD COME….. we went into bluebell wood and we was there a total of 4 weeks until sienna passed away on 26/04/2016 we remained there as a family for 10 days after sienna passed until her funeral; blue bell wood have facilities for families children. I can honestly say hand on heart losing my baby girl was the worst thing ever but knowing that she was cared for properly and made comfortable by the staff at bluebell wood took some pressure away. Nothing was ever too much for them.

So finally… the reason I am wanting to do the skydive is because bluebell wood is a charity run hospice so they really do need all the help they can get to continue the amazing work and me trying to raise as much as possible is just a fraction of what they deserve. So please please sponsor me, every penny helps! The skydive will be taking place on September 9th.
