I've raised £550 to help with Scruffs our adopted stray cats tooth extraction.

Meet scruffs the stray...who has been visiting our garden at our home in france for a few months for food, In january he arrived in our garden having being badly attacked by another animal, he had a huge wound on his neck and front legs. we took him straight to the vets who immediately took his blood to check for any diseases he could of contracted. unfortunately he came back positive for fiv which is the feline strain of hiv. In france if a stray cat has fiv he is instantly put down. so after reading that cats with fiv can have long happy lives we decided to adopt him. after a few weeks his wounds healed and he was much better.
unfortunately it did not last, due to his fiv he has developed stomatitis in his gums, a painful condition where the gums are constantly inflamed and bleeding, he has had two rounds of anti biotics and anti inflammatory shots but it has not worked. The vet has a advised that the only option is a full mouth tooth extraction. this will stop the stomatitis and he will no longer be in pain. (cats can live very happily with no teeth)
so we are desperately trying to raise the money so he can have the extraction done asap and be out of pain. He is such a loving and friendly cat and its very sad to see him suffering.
