I am going to attempt to beat the current world record for the longest horse ride. Using approximately 12 horses (thank goodness for good friends!) I will ride from the Pangbourne Equestrian facilities based at Hillfields Farm on 1st June 2017, I will venture via Windsor to the RDA at Chobham before making my return to Pangbourne for the Classic Car show at Pangbourne College on Saturday 3rd June. Many of the Pangbourne Community and members of the RDA are already offering mass amounts of support.. now just for the fundraising..
The Centenary Charity has been formed this year to raise £100,000 for 100 years of tuition at Pangbourne College. The entire community is joining together to help achieve our target. Money raised will not stay at Pangbourne College, rather it forms the core of our efforts to give back to our local community, helping to fund youth development and educational projects in the local comminity as well sending some of the funds to our partnership community in Uganda, the Nabugabo Community Learning Centre. 50% of the money raised from this world record attempt will go to The Centenary Charity.
The Riding for Disabled (RDA) has been carrying out life-changing activities for over 40 years, providing therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people with disabilities all over the UK. The RDA offer activities for all age groups and, wherever possible, to people with any disability – you’re just as likely to find an RDA Group in an urban setting as a rural one. The RDA heavily rely on voluntary help, donations and legacies to deliver their services. 50% of the funds raised from this world record attempt will be split evenly between the Chobham RDA and Newbury RDA.
