Story

Here we are again, asking for your donations!

Last year we asked you to help fund the refurbishment of the bar in the Clarence Park Pavilion and you gave us an amazing £6,622, which along with a lot of hard work by many volunteers enabled us to fully revamp this area.

If you have visited since this work was completed you will know that the results were fantastic and the bar is now a modern, comfortable and pleasant place to spend time.

It is now time to turn our attention to the upstairs 'Long Room' and kitchen, which have not been modernised properly for decades.

We intend to remove the existing serving area completely , which will create a lovely open plan space. This will make the area much more flexible and allow us to use it more effectively. We will of course redecorate the whole area , install new lighting and renovate the wooden floor.

We hope this will make the space much more attractive to third parties wanting to hire the space for functions , which in turn will generate much needed revenue for the club.

We also intend putting in a serving hatch between the kitchen and Long Room and will fully refurbish the existing kitchen area, modernising it and making it much more functional .

The club will contribute £1500 from club funds towards this work but we need to raise another £3500 to reach the £5000 we think we need to get everything done in time for the 2018 season.

Of course, we will be calling in favours, doing some of the work ourselves and generally trying to keep the costs down as much as possible!

If you can help us with a donation we would be hugely grateful - if you are interested in any of the sponsorship packages we are currently offering (including Long Room 'naming rights') please contact Andy Saunders on andy@velocitypr.co.uk for more details .

Thanks , and please give generously !
