I'm raising £250 to Help Us Rebuild Our Community and Save Our Village

Story

We’re the people behind the Carmyle Santa Run, bringing joy to our village for over 34 years. Now, we’re coming together again.

That’s why we’ve created Carmyle Re:Run, a new, community-led group that’s about running things differently. Together. We’re not here just to say “no” to development. We’re here to say “yes” to a better Carmyle. One where our community centre is open again, where support is local and where every generation feels like they belong.

Glasgow City Council has agreed to sell off the last of our green space in Carmyle to a private developer planning to build 400 homes. This land isn’t just “unused space” — it’s where we walk our dogs, let off steam, cycle, clear our heads, and feel part of something bigger.

There’s no infrastructure in place to support this development. No functioning community centre. No dedicated spaces for kids, families, or older people. The pressure on local roads, services, and our already-stretched GP is huge. Our voices matter, and we need your help to make them louder.

This isn’t just about fighting a land sale. It’s about rebuilding community spirit, connection, and support from the ground up.

Your donation will help us:

+ Print banners, posters and flyers to raise awareness.

+ Host future community events and meetings.

+ Run surveys and petitions to represent your views.

+ Fund the start of Carmyle Re:Run — our new, community-led group to bring back local services and support.

Every penny goes straight back into Carmyle.

Every share, every donation, every bit of support helps us take action.

If you believe our village deserves better, please support us today.

Together, we can save what matters and build something even stronger.

Carmyle Re:Run. Running things differently. Together.
