Story

Stanley's Own 2nd New Forest Copythorne Scout

We are delighted to share the exciting news that four of our Scouts have been awarded four of the 3240 UK (and four of 144 places in Hampshire) places on the next Scout World Jamboree held in South Korea and 10 others on Hampshire Project 23, in the Europe, both projects will take place in Summer 2023. This will be a fantastic experience for our eleven Scouts, details of which are summarised as follows:

World Scout Jamboree 2023- The 25th World Scout Jamboree is to be held SaeManGeum in Korea. The theme for the 25 World Scout Jamboree is ‘Draw Your Dream’ and the UK Contingent brand is ‘Think big. Dream wild. Act together’ and was developed by the Youth Shaped Team. The Scouts are more than just travel buddies, they are planners, fundraisers, motivators and mentors, with a lot to achieve in a short time as we leap to the challenge as ‘Think big. Dream wild. Act together’. This theme speaks to the new adventures, cultures, and friendships that will be shared by Scouts from around the world during the 12-day event in Korea.

Project 23– This is a three-week Scout expedition across Europe for over 200 Scouts from Hampshire, taking place in July 2023. As a Youth Shaped organisation, the Scouts are involved in planning and developing the direction of their adventure. We are excited to see how the adventure develops over the next 18 months.

The Scouts have worked hard and have raised £25000 so far and now just have the last £10000 to raise. As a group the Scouts have been super busy - plant sales, sponsored events, race nights, quiz nights, painting and gardening jobs.
