We are a grassroots, girls U11 football team who absolutely love what we do, and this is down to our football friends and amazing coaches that help us be the best we can be.

When we started out, we were a small group of 8 girls who had never met each other before - our first team pic:

Our first season was tough!! We got beat A LOT but we also gained A LOT too - skills, friendships and resilience, as well as a couple of extra players along the way!

Our last two seasons have gone from strength to strength, with us moving up to an higher league the following year, and this year we’ve held our own with some pretty tough teams against us. We still have those original 8 girls but have since grown to an amazing team of 13 girls who show up week after week for hard work and lots of fun in between!

Our coaches are just the best. Not only do they give up their time for free to train us but they genuinely care about each player and go the extra mile all the time to encourage and support us all both on and off the pitch. All equipment we use is paid for by them along with donations/sponsors from parents too. We really do have the best team out there, from the girls, to the parents, to the coaches - we are all so lucky to be part of The Stars.

As a thank you, and any excuse to have fun and get dirty, a small group of us have decided to complete the Derby 2.5k Inflatable Course to raise as much additional funds as we can to support our team. We’re not sure how the funds will be used yet - this could be to replace damaged equipment, to purchase hoodies or rain jackets for training (as we’re growing out our current ones), or may be to put towards an end of season celebration…we don’t know yet but what we can be sure of is that the team will benefit from all the funds raise directly.
