Our historic 13th century church of Saint Bartholomew nestling at the highest point for a church in Hertfordshire is a gem amongst gems. Set in a beautiful grave yard surrounded with trees, grass, wild flowers and the eternal rested.
Inside the graceful lines, and plain beautiful fittings leading to the East and the alter. We have a Church to be proud of, and a great place to worship our Lord.
The worship side of things could be enhanced preferentially for the young and old alike by installing cushions on all the benches. To include the choir stalls, vicars chair and the organist bench.
Some say this might be soft and indeed it would be !
Please support the congregation of this worthy comfort by raising the target. A benefactor has matched the sum, for which we are very grateful.
This would make the church a comfortable place and keep people at worship for longer in the environment and even after the event. It would also be of great benefit to the clubs that operate at Saint Bartholomew’s.
The cushions will be a royal blue velvet picking out the colour in the kneelers.
