I've raised £5000 to fund a community building school trip to Kenya (Ethical Journeys Without Compromise). Mr Millard is running The London Marathon to help us.

Since launching their first trips in 2002, over 22,000 volunteers have travelled with Camps International, completing over 80,000 weeks of volunteering. This has positively impacted on the lives of over 103,000 people completing over 250 different projects across 3 continents and 8 countries. In the Summer of 2019, an intrepid group of pupils from St Edmund's School, Canterbury will be visiting Kenya to assist in a community project. We need your support to enable us to improve people's lives who are not as fortunate as ourselves and have life enhancing experiences that we will remember for ever at the same time. Be part of something good and thank you for reading our page. As part of our fundraising initiatives, the teacher who will be travelling with us, Mr Millard, is running the 2018 Virgin London Marathon to try to raise funds for the costs of our trip to Africa. He has been training for weeks in preparation for the challenge ahead. We are also preparing for the challenges ahead for us next Summer (2019). We would all be very grateful if you wanted to contribute in some way to the costs of the 11 of us travelling to Kenya.
This is a quote from Camps International:
"When something is fundamentally right, it just works. There are no handouts to be had and all our projects are established in partnership with local people.
The process invariably starts with a long, hot meeting in the village with members of the community who shape the indigenous way of life. We discuss the needs of the community with womens' groups and respected elders achieving a list of sustainable development objectives by working together. We bring funds, enthusiastic travellers and guaranteed sustainability.
Fostering long term relationships between us and the communities with whom we work, across the globe, is central to what we do. Our aim is to help them sustain their own cultures and identities whilst developing their independence."
All of your donation will go into the trip funds.
