The present chuch door at St Edward's is a metal grill. This is dark and foreboding and does not represent the modern, welcoming outlook that the church wants to present to all its visitors whether they are regular worshippers or occasional visitors.

We are planning to install a modern glass door which visitors can see through and see whether the church is open or not. When the Church is open, the inner door will not need to be closed, enabling visitors to see right into the Church.

This new glass door will make the Church light and airy and send out a message that the Church is welcoming to all. With its modern locks, it will also create a much more secure entrance for the Church when thefts from churches are such a common occurence.
