We at *FITnFUNKEY* (find us on facebook) are holding a 2nd *FUNK-A-THON* event this time for ** 6 HOURS** NON-STOP CONTINUOUS DANCEto beat last years record of 5 HOURS WOW!!!! resulting in such a highly successful 1st event last year raising £3500 for Refuge (Domestic VIolence), and also another reason for holding this event is due to high demand of a 2nd one, giving us yet another opportunity to raise well deserved and much needed funds..

This year we have chosen 2 causes to raise as much funds as we possibly can through crowd funding/sponsor forms/raffle tickets/etc and hoping to smash last years Total Amount..

REASON 1 = SADS UK (SUDDEN ADULT DEATH SYNDROME) also known as >> Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome. This is a cause we hold dear to our hearts and particularly selected by our family, having lost someone special of SADS UK aged just 26yrs (in Loving Memory of Liam Mckay leaving behind at that time a lil daughter Lexie aged 4) missed terribly by so many everyday Family/Friends/Work Colleagues. So any extra funding we can raise to help in finding ways to support the families who have experienced this or any treatment to discover this before it happens anything to us is so so important. We will and so will anyone affected by this be so very very grateful for any pennies you can spare.

REASON 2 = ACORN CENTRE, Now this centre is run by volunteers, they do have a couple of paid staff to assist the volunteers, but it is governed mainly by donations and fund raising etc. The centre offers so many people so much, Youth projects/company/friendly staff/safe place/activities/fund-days/ the list is endless.Our group has been working with them now for some time and they go above and beyond the support for our group, and we also hold the HIgh Honour of being voted Palmer Award Winners by them and the community, so we feel it so important to give something back to the centre and community, and we know they would love to have a stage at the centre to use for so many reasons, that if we can help give that by way of thank you for everything they do for us, and the community can enjoy future events and presentations using it aswell, then that would be an amazing gift from our group. This centre prides itself on the accessibility of the centre for people with disabilities and take their responsibilities under ‘The Disability Discrimination Act’ seriously their staff are also trained in how to recognise disabilities and their requirements and how to assist people with disabilities (EXACTLY HOW OUR FITNESS GROUP IS ASWELL)

Now as i mentioned at the start last year with all our sponsor forms and justgiving and raffles and of course dancing for 5 hours NON-STOP we worked so hard to raise those funds but it was so worth it £3500.00, to hand that over and know the help for those in need it would have.

So this year its 6 HOURS NON STOP DANCING 80+ TRACKS ALL GENRES BOOM!!!!Raffle/sponsor forms etc

I know that this year if we try hard enough there is no reason to believe we COULD NOT raise £4000.00, IF WE DON'T WE DON'T BUT NOT FOR WANT OF TRYING.

Once the crowd funding date is completed,it will then be added to sponsor form collections and raffle ticket sales collections and independant donations, only then we know the final amount to establish our Grand Total.

This Grand Total will then be split between BOTH the chosen charities and handed over with great pride, and huge Hope that for SADS UK it is used where ever it is most importantly and crucially needed and for The Acorn can complete much needed equipment what ever they decide in the end is a priority to keep this centre going or improve on anything that requires improvement
