Hi. My name is Henry. This half term, I am cycling a marathon to raise money for brown bears in Slovenia!

When I went to Slovenia in the summer, I was really lucky because I got to see a real brown bear. It was AMAZING!

Brown bears live near people in villages and towns. They are usually scared of people and don't want to hurt them. They only attack if they feel scared or threatened.

Sometimes bears struggle to find enough food (they can eat up to 40kg a day!). This means they sometimes go into villages looking for food in peoples bins. YUK!

When they do this they become less scared of humans which is a bad thing for both the bears and the people living nearby.

The team at Kocevsko want to buy special bear-proof bins so the bears can't get into them. This will ensure the bears and people can live peacefully side by side. The money I raise will help pay for these bins, keeping both the bears and people safe.
