Story
My dear wife, Mena & our dear Mum lost her battle with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma on Monday 14 June 2021 at home with her family around her.
When mum was poorly and needed to be in hospital she was admitted to Elizabeth Loury ward at Southend Hospital each time.
All of the nursing staff, assistants, doctors, cleaners, caterers etc were amazing and mum loved them all. She only ever wanted to go to this ward as she knew (as did we all) that she would be cared for 100%!
We can’t thank the staff enough for what they did and how they cared for Mum during the worst time of our lives. We always knew she was in safe hands once she was on this ward! And so we want to thank them as best we can.
We are looking to raise some funds from her funeral (instead of flowers) to go towards purchasing worthwhile items for the ward to help all current and future patients stays that much nicer!
Mum would always call us and say ‘I’ve got a TV but the remote has gone walkabouts!’
We are looking to purchase some universal remote controls for the ward along with some fans to keep patients cool and also radios to make the stay that much more comfortable for all.
All donations will be gratefully received by us all and we thank you in advance.
Lots of love,
Howard, Stuart, Anna-Marie, Stephanie & David
