Story
I have been introduced to Boccia by my niece who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Playing a sport, where she had control of everything she does, was not an option until she discovered Boccia.
Boccia is a precision ball sport played on a court using a specially designed ramp and the help of a buddy, who is not allowed to speak or look at the ball match in progress. She can play a full game of competitive sport along with many of her friends and is happy to play, engage with her peers, and be part of a sporting community.
The Cotswold Crusaders Boccia Club is run by enthusiastic volunteers and self-funds. The equipment unfortunately is very expensive and falls outside the pockets of many people with disabilities.
