Me and my friend are taking part in Total Warrior, Yorkshire and are raising money to donate to a local animal charity - Yorkshire Animal Shelter (Y.A.S).

Total Warrior is an outdoor obstacle race with around 25 punishing obstacles, over a 12 kilometre course.

I have always been a huge animal lover and have wanted to help a local charity for some time, but not had the right opportunity, until now.

Y.A.S are a small rescue and rehoming charity based in the North of Leeds, run entirely by volunteers and relying solely on public donations to continue their work.

Y.A.S's Goals are:

Relieve : To relieve the suffering of stray and abandoned animals who are in need of care and attention and provide treatment for sick or injured animals.

Maintain : To maintain facilities for the reception and care of animals and to re-home and foster where appropriate.

Educate : To educate the public in all aspects of animal care and promote animal welfare in the community.
