Story
Jenni lives with her husband Damien and their young son Dylan in Peel House, a concrete tower block in Bingley. This week they are threatened with imminent homelessness by Incommunities, the Bradford area's social housing quango. Please help!
Jenni is a dedicated teaching assistant and community volunteer who last year featured with Dylan in a short film I made called HIGH RISE DAMP, about the poor housing conditions on their estate. If you can spare a few minutes to watch it, you'll understand why I'm trying to help them now.
Incommunities are threatening to evict Jenni and her family on Tuesday, November 7th, unless they can pay off a big chunk of the compounded rent arrears that they owe... Yet as the film explains, their debt was initially incurred when Jenni had to take unpaid time off work to care for Dylan when he was sick. Doctors said his health problems were very likely related to the mould in their flat -- but although the mould has now been treated, the arrears are still outstanding... And because of this debt, the family can't even get the references they'd need to move anywhere else! It's what they call a vicious circle.
Please help save this brave family and their gifted, scholarship-winning son from being thrown into a homeless hostel, or worse... Thankyou so much.

7 years agoThose who supported the appeal last week to prevent Jenni Mynard and her family being evicted from their Bingley home by Incommunities housing association may be interested to note that the total given has continued to tick up since we hit target. There's now an additional £500 to further defray Jenna's rent arrears. It's an amazing result, thank you to everyone for their generosity and concern. The eviction process was called off after we were able to present the required £1700. Tonight, Jenni and family still have a roof over their heads.

7 years agoAstonishingly, we are on 92% of target with just £130 to go... Who will top us off?! Thankyou so much everyone!! .... BBBUT... I just read the Just Giving small print and apparently they deduct a few percent commission from the total, so pushing is up to £1785 would offset that deduction! Thanks again, you lovely people... x

I can see enough has been raised to help this family, but would love to see them have enough to rehouse themselves somewhere healthier and happier. Housing in this country is appalling. Best wishes xx
