I am developing a local photography club to bring photographers of all types together.

From a young age I enjoyed photography, utilising it for school and college work. More recently I worked for Jessops prior to them going into administration. I have met a lot of people through work and being out photographing, who enjoy it, yet most do it all on their own. Having suffered with bouts of depression I have found going out photographing has been something that has massively helped me with those bouts, and I am hoping that it can do the same for others.

The main focus of the club will be to engage and encourage photographers of all ages, regardless of the method they use to capture their images, or their skill level. A major aim of the club will also be to organise days out where members can work on particular skills or styles associated with photography.

I aim to give them a club where ideas, techniques, experiences and even potentially equipment can be shared.

The funds I am hoping to raise will be used to source a location for meetings and workshops to be held, where I can also store a selection of equipment that will be available for members to use during the meetings and workshops, with the intention of increasing the equipment available to members if enough funds are raised.

Once the club has got up and running I will look to begin running competitions both internally and externally with various prizes available. The competitions will be judged by either external or internal photographers respectively.
