Story
Caroline had been suffering headaches for about 18 months when her GP suggested she should start taking ‘beta blockers’. Her mum was having none of it and Caroline was sent to the local hospital for a scan
It was confirmed that Caroline had a growth in her brain the size of a tennis ball – surgeons who had seen the scan results before meeting Caroline were astonished that she was still able to function. Caroline was just a few days short of her 30th Birthday and her son Jack was only 9
The operation removed 70% of the tumour, the remainder being too close to the brain stem to be operable. Biopsies revealed that the tumour was an aggressive grade3/4 astrocytoma
Caroline returned to work for a short period, but it was obvious that she could not continue. Her eyesight had been reduced to 50% so that she could only see to one side of her body. Her memory and ability to find words was causing problems. Her employers had to let her go
After nearly two years of treatment, in April 2015, Caroline was told that there was nothing further that could be done. The prognosis was that she had between 3 and 12 months to live. Jack was just 11 at that time.
previously Caroline had been told by a patient about the use of an alternative method. After research research it seemed like a good option. Once Caroline was given a terminal prognosis we tried it – even her medical team, although not able to advise for it, neither were they against it.
We were given an address in Canada of a reputable source of pharmaceutical grade oil and made the necessary purchase
After six months it appeared to stabilise and has remained in that state
All things considered she enjoys a quality of life that she wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for the new treatment. She is grateful to all of the friends and family who have supported her, emotionally as well as financially – her treatment costs £950 each month. More importantly her boy is now 14 and Caroline is still here to see him growing up
