    Story

    Hi everyone

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read through my appeal.

I started Envirom8 Ltd knowing I would face challenges along the way and that I would encounter situations that would test me , both physically and emotionally.

In many ways it has and especially so in recent months.

You would think it would be the horrendous sights and smells that would bring the most challenge, or even the day-to-day running of a business (and all the stresses that this brings) which would make me question if I made the right choice in starting this venture.

The reality however is that this is definitely not the case.

In fact it's when I come across vulnerable and unsupported people who ask me directly for help. Having to say no and that telling them that I can't help them (despite the heartbreak of their predicament) is something that I really struggle to deal with.

    The story

This leads me on to the details of this appeal.

I was introduced to a lovely lady of 60 years of age who suffers with mental health problems and who sadly (like many), has slipped through the net of mental health supporting networks.

Betty (which is not her real name for sensitivity) is a hoarder, whose house has deteriorated into an uninhabitable state.

Not one room in the property is currently usable, as over the years Betty has hoarded bags and bags of clothes, each one full of items she has some emotional connection to.

Mice have infested and urinated on these items, so they are sadly longer in a condition for re-sale or redistribution.

As a company I can help Betty and do the job purely at cost, but without further support from other areas it sadly cannot be achieved.

When I first met Betty I was genuinely touched by her personality and unfortunate situation she had gotten herself into really effected me personally .

I was that effected by what I saw, I immediately booked her into a hotel for five nights, so she could sleep in a comfortable bed in a clean environment, take a shower and have access to electricity. To basically be reminded how life is meant to be!

What the appeal will help support

Currently my plan is to get a skip on her drive so we can empty the garage and make this into a temporary living area for her.

The area would be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and we will install a small fridge, microwave and camp bed for Betty while we empty and repeat the whole process to the rest of her home.

The estimated cost of the skips alone will be over £1000 and the time and materials needed to clean and clear the whole properties comes to an additional £3000.

While this is taking place, I will also be actively assisting in getting Betty help through the charity 'Mind' but this can often be a slow process.

    Going forward

Moving forward I hope I can also help other vulnerable people in the same position as Betty, to help get their lives back on track. This can only be a possibility however if I receive generous donations from individuals such as you.

Any support you can give in helping me would be gratefully received. Thank you so so much for your support.

    Best wishes!

    Stephen

May this help Betty to a cleaner home and a healthy mind. Good luck Stephen.
