Story
Hi there everyone. Its been a while since I last gave an update, that‘s because there hasn’t been a great deal going on. We did have to give Vanessa another transfusion a couple of weeks ago which considering it has been 5 months since her last one is a massive improvementon where we were this time last year and especially since nearly 2yrs ago when this journey started. The mix of herbal and what pharmaceutical meds we can afford still seem to be helping, although to what extent we don’t really know, nor do we know all the other potential ailments that may be occuring. Vanessa frequently spends several days at a time in the mountains which is a couple if hours away on a motorbike, these stays help her to relax as well as breathing in fresh and clean air. This is also having a positive effect on her recovery. All we can do for now is keep goong as we have been and hope that the cancers eventually die like the tumour that was on her uterus and we can sort out the autoimmune disorders. I am still convinced the autoimmune disorders are as a result of the blood transfusions, but since they were and to some extent still are essential to her survival it is something we are going to have to deal with and hope that as she recovers and hopefully her bone marrow repairs that she will eventually no longer need transfusions and then hopefully to autoimmune disorders will start to dissipate. To everyone that has helped and continue to help I again thank you on behalf of my family from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hi there everyone. Quite a bit had happened up until the beginning of November (I would’ve posted an update sooner, but where I was had internet slower than a week in the jail). So, on the 15th of October Vanessa managed to expel a tumour from herself whilst having a pee. This tumour was 4.2”x3.8” in size (I even have a couple of pics of it🤢🤮🤢🤮) and fortunately she was able to recover this and get it to her Dr who then put it in formaline to preserve it so it could be analysed. The results came back that the tumour was benign which is a relief and now the Drs are very keen to study just what Vanessa has been doing as this is pretty much unheard of. We are hoping that they will agree to pay for the tests whilst we continue with the alternative treatment. Just a few days after getting rid of this tumor though Vanessa was in chronic pain, we found out this was due to kidney stones which can be a side effect of taking Moringa. Fortunately i was able to secure a loan for £3,000 (I had literally just paid off a loan to the same lender😫😫😫😫) and we were able to get Shockwave treatment to break up the kidney stones as some had become lodged in her urinary track. For just over a week now Vanessa has stopped taking Moringa and now we are focussing on improving her bone marrow to improve her blood. Vanessa is still suffering abdominal pain which we are still trying to figure out the cause, the most likely explanation is IBS but it also appears Vanessa has a leaky gut. We are doing what we can to help improve her gut and hopefully this will heal without needing surgery. The consequences of the leaky gut is that Vanessa had started developing sepsis, because she was already antibiotics this has helped reduce to effects of that and at present is under control. Vanessa has booked an appointment to test for cancers and we are hoping that since effectively pissing out that huge tumour that all the cancers have now been dealt with, so right now its just a case of waiting for the appointment and then for the results to come in. Thank you everyone for your help and support, im truly hoping that he worst is now behind us.
Hi there everyone. Another eventful month this month. We have some good news and some not so good news. The good news is that the aneurysm has now reduced to a point where it is no longer life threatening and the lymphoma is also noticeably reducing. The not so good news is that after we were able to get a CT scan and a few blood tests etc done we have been able to see a few other things that are going on. They are Vanessa’s brain is actually shrinking slightly as well as bleeding, her liver and spleen are both enlarged, she is having to take birth control to stop her menstruation because if she starts to bleed she quite literally will not stop until there is no blood left. She has pericarditis which is an enlargement/infection of the heart sac. She also has Pure Red Cell Aplasia and to top it all off she also has lead poisoning. Our only real option is to go organic as paying for the meds to treat all these conditions is well beyond our means. That said, she has been responding very well to the organic approach so far and we can only hope that continues. Barbara O’Neil is now our guru and the information she freely gives has been pivotal in getting us where we are now. The Dr has said that to sort out Vanessa’s blood issues (these have always been the most immediate threat to her life) would require a bone marrow transplant, again something far outside our means. To that end we are pretty much relying on the information we are getting from Barbara to help keep Vanessa alive. Now, I told Vanessa when she went back to the Dr to get these results that we were not going to get any good news as such. Instead we were actaully going to get answers to what is going on and then able to try and plan how we go forward. As you can all imagine she was very upset after getting the news, I told her “we have been here before, just 1 list of threats to your life has been exchanged for another and now we need to see what we can do with whats in front of us”. So, I personally am relieved to a large extent as now we know what we are dealing with instead of just treating symptoms as they appear and having an educated guess as to what is going on. This battle is still far from over, but at least with the knowledge we now have we can better plan her treatment. Thank you for baring with us and supporting us with your generosityand kind words, without that our situation would be very different. THANK YOU
Hi there everyone. Well, the last month has been a bit eventful. Vanessa‘s menstruation started and this is always a worrying time right now and proved to be even more so when she was still bleeding heavily after 2 weeks. This resulted in her being admitted back into hospital for yet another blood transfusion and less than 3 weeks after the previous transfusion and just like the previous one she needed multiple units of blood. This meant we ended up having to borrow the money to cover the cost of this blood as well as the myriad of tests they then ran to determine why she was still bleeding. Ultimately, they are still none the wiser as to the actual cause but we did find out some other very useful information from the tests. The lymphoma is significantly reduced from when first discovered and it is anticipated the current course of natural meds should take care of this entirely. Also, the abdominal aortic aneurysm and swollen spleen have both returned to a normal size. The aneurysm is still there as such, but with it returning to a normal size means the risk of it rupturing has massively reduced. The myocardits has also reduced to normal levels, relieving some of the pressure on her heart. So, ss things stand there has been a lot of improvements in certain areas regarding Vanessa’s health, but until we can either control her bleeding or manage to find a cure for the haemolytic aneamia (we are still trying to find a source for turkey berries) then we will still be dependent on transfusions every so often, just hopefully not 4-5 units every 3-4 weeks. Thank you for taking the time to look in her and see what progress had been made. Without your help and support none of this would have been possible and for that my family and I will be forever in your debt. Thank you
Hi there everyone. So, after being able to get Vanessa the blood transfusions she needed (she ended up needing 5 units) all seems to be going faily well so far. The Moringa although not as effective as actual pharmaceutical meds is without doubt helping. I am hoping as things stand right now that further donations may not be necessary as the Moringa is within our means and as long as I can get at least 1 extra shift a month then I should be able to manage her blood transfusions as well. There are a few of you that have set up a direct debit paying £10 each a month into this appeal. If you wish to now stop that then by all means do so and likewise if you also wish to continue to help then this will be greatfully received. I shall continue to keep this open, but more as sitrep than anything else for now. There have been a great many of you that have helped to date, some of you have helped a great deal and I am by no means before melodramatic when I say that without your help Vanessa would died back in March last year at least and many times since then. There are no words that I can say that can even come close to thanking you enough for what you have done for my family and we can only hope this new treatment does what we hope it would. To each and every one of you THANK YOU.
Hi there everyone. There is some good news and some not so good news. On the good news side our Dr has been consulting with colleagues and friends of his far and wide for alternatives that we can use instead of the standard meds we have been trying to manage as best we can. This has resulted in us trying Moringa powder which intially at least has shown great promise and if this continues to be the case then managing this myself should be possible. On the not so good news side Vanessa is long overdue a blood transfusion and these we cannot manage ourselves without me getting extra work when back onshore and this I can never guarantee, each unit of blood costs us £500 to buy, cross match and then administer. It is looking likely that Vanessa will need several units as her haemoglobin is dropping to very low levels. Looking at the blood they have just drawn it is clear to see something is very wrong as there seems to be something visibly white within her blood that has yet to be determined what it actually is. I am hoping that with 1 last push we can get the money together for the blood transfusions and then hopefully I can potentially manage Vanessa’s treatment myself, at least as long as the Moringa powder keeps working as it so far has been. Again, I want to thank each and every one of you that have helped to date, even if it‘s just spreading the word around so that others may help. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
Hi there everyone. Vanessa had to visit the hospital again last week due to almost constant chest pain. After some tests it has been established that the autoimmune condition now appears to be attacking at least some of her organs and she has been diagnosed with Vasculitis, Thyroiditis and most worrying Myocarditis. With these also comes meds that are needed to treat conditions, virtually none of which we are in any way able to afford and although the exchange rate has improved over the past few months which helps compensate for the increase in price we are still looking at over £2,000 for meds alone. As Vanessa’s condition worsens the need for help becomes so much greater. There quite literally isn’t enough hours in a day nor days in a week for me to be able to work to manage this myself. Any help you can give, regardless of how small or inconsequential you think it may be is still helping, even if all you can do is help pass this on to someone else that may potentially be able to help more it is still appreciated beyond anything I could ever put into words. THANK YOU.
Hi there everyone. Vanessa is still battling on, she is needing to sleep much more than normal and quite often can‘t understand what is being said to her which only exasperates her fatigue even more. We are still just trying to pick and choose what meds we buy as we are still nowhere near able to pay for all the meds she needs. We are also now overdue a blood transfusion which again only compounds everything that Vanessa is going through. We are in desperate need of any and all help we can get right now and for the foreseeable future. Please, if you can spare £10 and/or spread the word around as much as possible it would be appreciated beyond belief. To all of you that take the time to read this and help in any way you can, THANK YOU.
Hi there everyone. Vanessa pretty much has her mobility back for now, but is still constantly struggling. About the end of the month up until the 12th (when I get paid) is the worst time as this is when the money runs out until the next pay day. Vanessa had a very mild stroke on Friday and fortunately we were able to get her to hospital quickly which has helped reduce any permanent affects although with running the relarive tests we won’t know just what damage (if any) has been done. It seems more than evident that as time goes on without us being able to pay for all the treatment she needs that things like this will become more prevalent. Any and all help you can give, even if it is just spreading the word is appreciated beyond anything I could ever put into words. Thank you, each and every one of you. THANK YOU
Hi there everyone. Vanessa is slowly improving from the latest attack of Mysanthia Gravis, she is no longer bed ridden but does have to sleep considerably more than she normally would. One of the many affects of this autoimmune disorder is that even thinking of mundane everyday things can tire her out and as such she can literally forget what she is talking about mid-sentence. This is aside of the pain it creates throughout her body. Whilst dealing with the cancer is a priority, the immediate issues that need to be addressed are the complications from the Haemolytic Anaemia as well as the blood disorder itself. On a more personal note I have had to deal with “people” telling me to give up and leave my wife to her fate. That will NEVER happen!!! Vanessa may have given up months ago if it wasn‘t for your help to date and me telling her that I’m not giving up, so she can’t give up. If you are not able to help directly, then please at least share this as much as you can so that hopefully others may be able to. Your help and support mean the absolute world to us and we would be in a muchdarker place without you. Thank you, ALL of you.
Hi there everyone. Right now Vanessa is pretty much bed ridden for now as the Mysathenia Gravis is giving her a hard time, hopefully this will pass soon. We are still struggling to be able to afford even the most basic of meds which only adds the pain Vanessa is in. If you can, even the smallest amount helps and is appreciated more than I can ever put into words. If you can’t then please at least forward this on so that others who may be able and willing to help can at least get to see it. As always your help and support over the last 14 months has meant to world to us all, without you Vanessa would have died over a year ago now. Thank you all so very much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hi there everyone. As things stand there hasn’t been much of a change over the last 2 weeks, I am still sending every penny I can to Vanessa so that she can at least get some of the meds she needs. Even if I was able to keep sending her the money for all the meds without the surgery to sort out the aneurysm then this would only delay the inevitable. I am under no illusions about being able to raise the money required for this surgery, so all I can really hope for now is to try and give her the best quality of life I can, whilst I can. There just aren’t the words to do justice to just how much your help and support to date has meant to us all and I only hope you can still manage to continue to help in any small way. Thank you, each and every one of you.
Hi there everyone. Well, I was able to secure another loan and had compassionate leave from my work to be able to spend about 6 days with my family in the Philippines. Although not a great deal of time, especially after 4yrs of being apart but it was still great to be with them. During that time though it was very evident the toll these diseases and the lack of meds is having on Vanessa. How much time she has is really anyone’s guess right now, but what is without question is that without the surgery needed to sort out the aneurysm and the impact that is having on her organs it is only a matter of time. As always, any and all help that you can give is greatly appreciated. Even if all you can do is help spread the word so hopefully others that may be able to help can see this. Thank you again for all your help and support to date, it has been appreciated beyond anything I could ever put into words. Thank you
Hi there everyone, I normally try to keep updates and appeals to once a fortnight however a few things have happened over the weekend that necessitate another just now. During the blood transfusion at the weekend Vanessa had several seizures which meant even the 1 unit of blood had to be completed over several attempts. This resulted in the Drs conducting a whole abdominal ultrasound, we have received the results of that ultrasound a coulle of hours ago now. Vanessa has an abdominal aortic aneurysm, a fatty liver, kidney failure in 1 of her kidneys, her spleen is at least twice the size it should be and 1 of the autoimmune diseases is starting to slowly constrict her windpipe and oesophagus. The autoimmune disease is being triggered by the bleeding from her aorta. The only solution is surgery and the outcome of that is uncertain, even then as a result of the tests and hospital stay Vanessa has now used the loast of the money that was meant to pay the bills and food to pay the hospital so that they would release her and I have no money left to be able to send her either. I am waiting to hear back from the welfare service my employer has to see just what help they can provide, outside that it is just a case of waiting to see if Vanessa can be picked up on the monthly welfare cycle that runs in the Philippines to select those that they will grant free treatment to, if she is able to hold on that long and be strong enough to stand a chance of surviving the surgery. I have changed the description slightly to include hopefully be able for me to afford to fly out to the Philippines to be with my wife whilst she is still with us. Everyone, your help and support to date has been amazing and has been a constant source of strength to both me and especially Vanessa. As always, any and all help you can give is greatly appreciated and I want to thank you all from the bottom of heart on behalf of my family Thank you
Hi there everyone. Vanessa is currently in hospital getting a much needed blood transfusion as her haemoglobin level had dropped into the 50's which is critical. The Drs have insisted that she needs at least 2, possibly 3 units (£500 per unit) which there is no way we can afford. At the moment I have used the money for my bills here in the UK to pay for the 1 unit she is getting right now. On top of this the Drs are also insisting that she undergo a whole abdominal ultrasound which we still haven't been able to manage for the last year due to costs. I can't over emphasise how needed and important your help is, especially right now. Any and all help you can give is greatly appreciated, even if all you can do is help spread the word. Please, absolutely anything will help. Thank you.
Hi there everyone. As of last week we have not been able to afford any meds for Vanessa and as such she now constantly in a great deal of pain. Due to only being able to get 2 weeks work in February we are looking at being in the same position until at least mid April. Vanessa has been trying any herbal/alternative medicationthat she can to try and alleviate any of her symptoms. Please, any help you can give is both greatly needed and appreciated, even just a few £s and if you can’t spare any then please at least share this around as much as you can. Thank you, all of you.
Hi there everyone. The next couple of months are going to be very tough, I was only able to get 2 weeks work both last month and this month. This means i am woefully short of being able to get Vanessa virtually any of the meds she needs. This in part is why I have put the table with the Corps Monopoly game up for auction, but even anything I expect to be raised from that will still be far short of what’s needed to keep Vanessa alive. There has been little if any improvement with her condition over the last 2 months and with the back pay I received these have been the only months that I have been able to get her all the meds that she needs. Your help now is as urgent as it was this time last year. A donation of just £10 from enough of you will make all the difference and if you can’t spare the £10 then please share this as far as you can. As always, I can provide receipts, referrals, yest results etc etc etc. It has been directly by your help that Vanessa has survived until now and I am hoping with your help she can continue to fight and survive these diseases. I am and forever shall be deeply grateful for all the help you have given and hopefully continue to give. Thank you, all of you.
Hi there everyone. Since the last update we have fortunately been able to stop Vanessa’s bleeding, unfortunately though her menstruationis due to start again in the next week and this is where things will escalate. Just how far this will escalate is anyone’s guess right now as we are still nowhere near a position to be able to afford any of the tests that would be needed to determine this and on top of this another blood transfusion will also be needed. Your help is as critical now as it was when I initially started the Just Giving account at the begining of last year. Any and all help you can give is greatly appreciated, even if you cant spare any money and just spread the word it is still helping. To all of you THANK YOU.
Ok, here goes. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do and I know there is harder still yet to come. We are now at the point where Vanessa needs surgery. She has been bleeding since her menstruation last month and has now been told that without surgery to remove both her spleen and her uterus she will not have long left. It has only been last month and this one that we have been able to pay for all the meds that she was initially prescribed and it appears more than evident this has been too little too late. We don‘t have even an estimatefor how much the surgery would be other than the GP saying the actual surgery would be approx £4k, this doe not include any test needed before and after, any blood needed, any anaesthetic or oxygen, even paying for the nurses, hospital bed and any post operative care that may be needed. I am already well aware that this is going to be beyond any help I could potentially expect, especially considering the help and support you have already given over the last 11 months. The most I can hope for now is that you are able to help me pay for flights and funeral expences that will almost certainly be coming. I have been with Vanessa for 12.5yrs now and married for the last 6yrs. It has also been nearly 4yrs since I’ve been able to be with my family and over the past few months seen my wife slowly decline and this has been through my iPad. As always, any and all help you can give is greatly appreciated. Should you have any doubts about the validity of my wife’s condition and the expenses to date that have been needed then please contact me directly, I can provide reciepts, referrals, tests results etc etc etc. Again, thank you everyone.
Hi there everyone. So, the year may be new, but the problems we face are as they have been since about June/July when Vanessa was able to get the Haemoglobin infusions in that not only do I need your help with being able to manage paying for all of Vanessa’s meds (approx £2,000 each month), but also she now needs a unit of blood as well (£500 per unit). It has only been with all the help you have given to date that Vanessa is still alive and last month so far has been the only time we have been able to afford all the meds for the month. The improvement in her everyday life and activities has been very noticeable, but this can only continue with your help. As such I again ask, plead and beg for whatever help you can manage until such times as I am able to afford this myself. Please, anything you can give will be appreciated beyond belief and again I thank you all for your continued help and support. Thank you.
Hi there everyone. As things stand now Vanessa health is starting to take a turn for the worse. We have not been able to afford the meds she needs to stop her menstruation and this is resulting in a lot of bleeding which is having a very direct impact on her haemoglobin levels, this can turn critical very quickly. Without your help Vanessa would need to be admitted to hospital to survive, they will not accept her without at least a 20% deposit of projected hospital fees, meds, tests etc etc. Even from my best paying month i am still at least £700 short on being able to afford all the medication that had so far been prescribed. I have nowhere near enough to be able to pay for the hospital fees. It is getting close now to 4yrs since I’ve even been able to be with my family due to every penny i have been able to earn being barely enough to keep them fed and able to turn a lightswitch on as a result of the pandemic. Everything had been in place at the begining of the year to get them both out here permanently until these diseases decided to make an appearance. Right now my greatest fear is that my wife will die and not only will I not have been able to see her beforehand, but wont even be able to get out there nor be able to pay for her funeral. Right now I am asking, pleading and begging for you to help in anyway you can. If you can‘t spare £10, then please at least share this as much as you can. We are all depending on your help. THANK YOU
Hi there everyone. There hasn't been a great deal more happening in the last 2 weeks, were just trying to keep putting 1 foot in front of the other. We are still not in a position to be able to afford all of Vanessa’s meds, nor the MRI and CAT scans etc to determine how much her condition is deteriorating, but she is deteriorating and this will only continue without the meds she needs. The Lupus and Myasthenia Gravis have quite a debilitating effect on her as well to the point that a simple thing like making her breakfast necessitates an hour or 2 in bed to allow her to adequately recover. I have no options left other than appealing for your help as everything I am able to do to earn money is not sufficient to cover the costs of her treatment. Please, if you can a donation of £10 from enough people can make all the difference. As always, I thank everyone for all they have done so far in helping us, without your help Vanessa would have died months ago. Without your continued help though, the result will still be the same. Again, thank you.
Hi there everyone, the past couple of weeks has seen a few things come to light. Vanessa has been diagnosed with a couple of autoimmune conditions. These are Lupus and Myasthenia Gravis, whilst these conditins aren't life threatening they are very debilitating. I’ve been fortunate to have been able to land a few extra shifts in-between my normal work which has helped considerably with getting the meds Vanessa needs for the past couple of weeks, but this work is never guaranteed which is why I still need whatever help I can get. As always, we have copies of receipts for blood transfusions, meds, tests, Dr’s appointments as well as being able to provide results of tests undertaken, with a bit of notice. Thank you all for your help and support over the past 8 months, without it none of us would be here now. Thank you
Hi there everyone. The latest update is that I've managed to get paid enough to get Vanessa the unit of blood that she was already overdue. The blood transfusions cost £500-600 each unit, but as has been the case from the outset I won‘t have enough money to get her all the meds she needs to take. In fact, at no point since Vanessa’s initial diagnosis have we been able to get her all the meds she needs to take and as such we are still desperately in need of whatever help you can give. I am working every hour and every job I possibly can to be able to manage this myself, but the expenses are beyond anything I can manage. I appreciate that many of you have grown tired of me asking for your help, all I'm trying to do is keep my wife alive and at least hopefully cured of the Lymphom. The Haemolytic Anaemia is just soemthing that we will have to contend with. It’s not possible to convey just how much your help has meant to me, Vanessa and Zaina because without your help Vanessa wouldnt be here now. Thank you everyone for your help. Truly, thank you.
Hi there everyone. The latest update is that we are still progressing, although quite slowly. I was fortunate to be able to sell of the last of my assets to get Vanessa the meds she so badly needs. As it stands I am not going to be able to pay for all of these myself as yet as well as pay all the normal household bills both here in the UK and in the Philippines which is why I am still asking for your help. Many have given a great deal to date and this without doubt has gotten Vanessa of the critical list and kept her alive to now, but the unfortunate fact is that without your continued support it would only be a matter of a couple of weeks for Vanessa to regress back to where she was in March. On my best paying month from my main employer (I current take on whatever work I can muster on my downtime, but can't guarantee this work) I am £700 short in being able to provide these meds. This is why I keep asking/pleading for your help. I ask for those that can to please donate £10 a month until I can manage this myself. As always, should you question where this money is going I can provide copies of bank transfers, receipts, Dr's referrals, test results with a bit of notice. Yet again, I thank you all for your help and support through this very testing time. Thank you.
Hi everyone. I have brought the target figure down because I think the previous target has put many people off, the reason I had set such a high target is because the cost of Vanessa’s meds are still going to be outside my means for a while at least and I didn’t want to be constantly increasing the target every couple of months. The target figure is and always has been arbitrary until such times as Vanessa’s condition improves to a point where I can sustain this myself. Considering where we were in March we have come a very long way, but this is still ongoing for the long term. The unfortunate fact being though that until such times as the Lymphoma is beaten the costs are going to be too much for me myself, the Haemolytic Anaemia to a large extent I can cope with, the additional £500 every 2-3 months would be a challenge though. You have no idea just how much me, Vanessa and Zaina (our daughter) appreciate everything that you have done and some continue to do. I thank you all for your help and also your patience. I understand how this can look like just another scam, I can provide reciepts for all the meds, treatments, Dr’s appointments, referrals and test results (with a little notice) as well as character references from those that know and have served with me. Thank you.
Hi there everyone. Along with the good news about Vanessa’s treatment for the Haemolytic Anaemia the outgoing expenses for meds, tests, Dr’s fees etc have also now dropped considerably, but alas we still need help. These expenses are now down to approx £2k per month from what was initially £4.5-6k per month. We still dont know the extent of the lymphoma as the tests for this are approx £5k. What I can say is that the size of the lymph nodes has reduced. The treatment Vanessa has been receiving for this is Chlorine Dioxide drops along with Vitamin C infusions (many thanks to those that suggested these as they have made a massive difference) as well as a very strict diet. Treatment for the Haemolytic Anaemia will be for the rest of Vanessa’s life, but in time should be easily manageable and is currently not an immediate threat as before. As and when we are able to give an accurate assessment of the Lymphoma I shall post on here, but as things stand right now everything is looking positive. I will never tire of thanking you all for all the help you have given, without which Vanessa would no longer be here. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hi there everyone. Well, at long last we’ve had some good news, some very good news. Vanessa has been undergoing treatment for her Haemolytic Anaemia and so far the results are very positive. At the time of when I set up the first page and your very kind and generous donations started coming in her haemoglobin level was at 66. This doesn’t mean much to the vast majority of us, but effectively she had days, potentially less to live before her blood came to a point that it could no longer sustain her and the blood transfusions she was then able to get had quite literally saved her life. The treatment she has been receiving comprised of 5 haemoglobin infusions, 1 taken every 2-3 days and the results have stunned her Haematologist with her haemoglobin now back up to 85 which is well within normal parameters. Quite how her treatment will progress from here is still up for speculation and varies with each individual, some need 1 unit of blood approx every 8 weeks and some only need 1 unit every 6 months, some no longer need a transfusion at all. So, it’s very much a suck it and see. What it does mean though is that the expenditure for medical treatment has now dropped by about £1,500-1,800 per month. Other treatment is still ongoing and will no doubt be needing to be adjusted, but that should be in a positive way. Now that Vanessa is no longer in immediate danger from the Haemolytic Anaemia we get back to addressing the Lymphoma. Vanessa had been getting vitamin C infusions and these were showing some very positive results, but unfortunately due to lack of funds we had to choose between treating the Haemolytic Anaemia or the Lymphoma and due to the urgency of the former the latter ha to be put on hold. So, we are looking at starting the vitamin C infusions again in the very near future. Unfortunately though, I have to come to you again with cap in hand. The treatment Vanessa has just had is not very common and has a huge waiting list, it has taken nearly 5 months for Vanessa to get her slot and the treatment has cost £2,000. I was able to pay half this with the money I had available and a friend was able to lend us the other £1,000 as waiting until we had earned/raised the money would’ve meant missing her slot and going to the back of the waiting list again. Our friend that lent the money to us has needed that back as it came out of the money she had set aside to pay for her wedding reception at the end of the month. This meant that I have now had to use money we had set aside to pay our bills to pay her back and this is before any of the further treatment that Vanessa requires. So, if you could donate just £10 a month to help with these costs it would be appreciated beyond measure and thank you once again for ALL your help and support to date. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Apologies for having to set up a new page, apparently the page only lasts for 120 days unless you ask to extend. I didn‘t know about the time limit and received no prior notification Just Giving were closing it. So, I’ve created a new page and any money sent to the initial page shall be automatically sent to me. Thank you everyone for your help through this tough time. REgards Spook.
Hi there. We are still fighting these diseases and fighting for all we are. I have now sold off the last of any assets I had which has bought us a bit more time, but without your continued help we wont be able to progress any further. As stated before the Haemolytic Anemia is treatable to get to a point it can be kept under control with meds, but until that point Vanessa will need 3 units of blood every 5-6 weeks. These transfusions will cost approx £5-600 for each unit, but without them Vanessa will crash quite quickly. We are not able to tell as yet if the Lymphoma is contained or not due to the costs incurred for the tests as we are struggling beyond belief to be able to afford the treatments and pain meds etc just to keep this in check, much less to actually deal with it. Vanessa has been effectively rationing what meds she takes including cutting out a lot of the pain relief meds she shoukd be taking to try and keep our costs down as much as possible, but without your continued support this will be a losing battle. Please, if you can donate just £10 a month and if you can‘t manage that could you at least share this to as many people as you can. Cancer is a hard enough battle at the best of times, this is made much harder knowing that the cancer Vanessa is suffering from is cureable, just we cant afford the £5.5-6k each 5-6 weeks to be able to pay for this treatment. To everyone that has helped by either donating or spreading the word THANK YOU, your support means absolutely everything to us.
