Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am planning to do the perkins great eastern 5k funrun but with a twist. I want to do it backwards and blindfolded being guided by my neice and nephews to show that anything is possible with your family supporting and guiding you.
5 years ago my nephew couldn't walk. Leo was born with cerebral palsy, and when he was 4 and a bit his Mum was told that not only would he never be able to walk properly his progress would probably decrease as he became more resigned to life in a wheelchair. No football. No walking to school. No going out to play with friends.
A little while later our family learned of an operation which could change Leos fate. It was costly and involved a trip to America but after much hard work the money was raised and off he flew.
Fast forward 5 years and the boy who wasn't going to walk is now walking ...and jumping ...and skipping ...and playing. Just as any 10 year old boy should be able to. He is full of life and loves to be a part of the action and now he needs help.
Leos mobility doesn't come easy. The operation helped immensely of course but he still has terrible cramps, he still has to work HARD to keep his legs working. Part of that means having to buy splints which is what he needs now. We are trying to help raise the money to buy him the equipment he needs so we can continue to play!
Every single pound counts so thanks for reading and please dig deep! Also I want to raise more money than my sister does!!!!!!
Thank you
Steve
