I've raised £250 to help fund wheelchair access and a safe garden for Tommy to play in

Tommy was born in July 2012 he had complications straight away and test neonatal, an operation on his tummy at 3 weeks old, more test and a long wait it was confirmed at 5 months old he had tuberous sclerosis and epilepsy. Tommy also suffers with a left sided weakness due to the right side of his brain not developing during pregnancy, this has also caused development difficulties. He had 2 major brain surgeries for uncontrollable epilepsy in 2013 ad 2014, they were successful for a while but it didn't last, eventually after a lot of trial and error we have found the correct mixture of medication to control his seizures, with just the odd break through. He attends an amazing school and through hydro therapy and lots of other therapies whilst there and at home he has progressed more than doctors ever said he would. He can not stand or walk but can crawl at the speed of lightning if there is an open door. He is a very cheeky, happy little boy and loves to watch and play darts. Tommy has may hard times during his little life due to operations, test, scans and status seizures resulting in him being in intensive care, but the last 6 months have been very difficult. They found that one of his small tumors had grown to a dangerous size and was causing fluid on the brain, Tommy became very ill quickly and was admitted for a shunt to be fitted, then two days later they operated again to remove a cyst that had attached to the tumor and to also try and reduce some of the new growth, but overall due to its location the tumor is inoperable . It was a very hard recovery for Tommy but he did it still trying to smile and asking for cake constantly. He eventually returned to school and continued to shin. He is now on a long term drug to try and reduce the size of the tumor, he has to take this daily and visit our local children's oncology department for blood test and check ups. He is still so happy and loves going to get his bloods done so they can draw a pussy cat on his plaster, he just amazes us. The money raised would be used to take Tommy away as a family with his sister for a few days or a few days out. However the main goal is to try and get wheelchair access put in the back garden and make it a safe place for him to play by laying some astroturf. Hopefully he can enjoy the summer in the garden with his family.
