I am trying to solve the problem of people feeling marginalised and without a real sense of purpose in their lives.

I believe that we can best serve and strengthen our community's by using our professional skills and as a music lecturer and class room teacher with many years experience I am seeking to address the balance by helping young adults and pensioners living in isolation to create musical ensembles that they can perform and feel proud of.

Why do I care about it? Having worked in education establishments for so long I witnessed first hand the problems faced by marginalised individuals when they simply can.t keep up with the achievement ethos inherent in the main stream educational forum.

Pensioners who would love to come together and be given an opportunity to do something challenging and new. Refugee groups who could benefit by feeling a sense of belonging in their new environment and would bring so many new and refreshing ideas to the table.

I care because all these groups and more deserve a chance or opportunity to have a sense of purpose , an opportunity to come together and the reward to give something back to the community via performance.

I care because we are witnessing again a huge divide in our society and we need to start using our professional skills and resources to make a difference and create something positive that we can all enjoy.
