I'm a powerlifter running the Manchester half marathon 😬😬😬
I AM NOT A RUNNER so this will be the hardest thing I've ever trained for!

Every year a group of staff and pupils from St Antony’s Catholic College in Urmston, travel to Sibiu in Romania for a week in July.
We spend the week working at Cornatel Primary School with orphans and extremely disadvantaged children. The children live in such poor circumstances over there and it’s an eye opening experience for the pupils that take part in this. We spend our time at the school playing sports with the children, doing craft activities, playing games, face painting, teaching them some basic English and providing lunch for them. Towards the end of the week, we visit the local village where some of the children live, go to their homes and get to see first hand the awful conditions that they live in. Children in this day and age should not have to live in the conditions that they do, some without basics such as water, electricity, food and beds to sleep in.
This incredible project brings so much happiness to the lives of these children for a week, they spend the year looking forward to our arrival.
The pupils that are chosen to be part of the project each have to do their own personal fundraising projects to cover the costs of running the project. On top of this do additional fundraising as a group to purchase items for the school such as toys, games, educational resources and sports equipment. We also purchase clothing, toiletries and other basic essentials for each of the children that we work with over there and their families.

This project has been running for 9 years now and unfortunately this is going to be the final one... so we want to finish the project in style! Any support with fundraising to bring some happiness to these children’s lives and provide our pupils with a life changing experience, would be massively appreciated.
